Nothing But Tires on CBC Radio Active: Our Viral Office Remake

First came the opening credits. Then came the headlines. Now, our Edmonton tire shop has a radio segment to add to the story.

We recently joined Jessica Ng on CBC Radio Active to talk about Nothing But Tires’ viral remake of The Office theme and opening sequence. It’s been a pretty fun turn of events for a team whose usual day revolves around tires, customers, and keeping the shop moving.

If you missed the broadcast, press play above to hear the conversation. Whether you found us through the video or have been stopping by the shop for years, we’re glad you’re here.

An Edmonton spin on The Office

Our version trades Scranton for Edmonton and paper sales for a tire shop. The familiar opening credits became a chance to put our own team, our workplace, and a little local personality in front of the camera.

The remake is part of a bigger tradition at Nothing But Tires: making Office-style skits with the people you’ll actually meet in the shop. We revisited our original intro with everything we’d learned along the way, and the response took the story well beyond our social feeds.

We shared the earlier chapter in Nothing But Tires Going Viral and Making the News (For All the Right Reasons). Head there for the video and more of the coverage that followed.

Talking about the viral remake on CBC Radio Active

Getting to talk with Jessica Ng gave us another way to share this unexpected chapter in our shop’s story. A video made by our team had become something people were watching, sharing, and talking about—and CBC Radio Active invited us to join the conversation.

Thanks to Jessica and the Radio Active team for having us, and to everyone who watched the remake, sent it to a friend, or cheered us on. We’re grateful that a little fun at an Edmonton tire shop has connected with so many people.

Meet the team behind the skits

The people in the videos are the people behind Nothing But Tires. The skits give us a chance to show the humour and personality that customers see when they visit us in person.
